How do I make medical marijuana capsules?

These are just two of the proven methods as provided by one of Overgrows own members.

Medical MJ capsules are a healthy and stealthy way to get high and none of the THC goes up in smoke, so nothing goes to waste.

About the capsules:
Empty medicine capsules can be purchased in some health food vitamin stores, if you are unable to obtain them, simply purchase some inexpensive herbal capsules and empty out the contents.

I?ll describe two methods, the first is my preferred method, but both work equally well:

Method One:

Supplies:
Stainless steel spoon
Stove
Freezer
Blender
1″ clean unused paint brush
Double boiler or a suitable substitute. (stainless steel pans are preferred, the no stick surfaces tend to hold the oil)
A candy or cooking thermometer
3-4 TBSP Olive Oil
1 oz high quality dried buds
100-120 large empty medicine capsules

The entire process is very simple and only takes about 2 hours from start to finish.

You start by cleaning the buds removing all seeds and sticks. Once the bud is cleaned you take about 1/4 oz at a time and chop it into a flour like powder in the blender. Be sure and keep the lid on the blender, since you don’t want the powder flying everywhere, let it settle before opening lid. Chop all into fine powder.

When done chopping use the paint brush to sweep all the powder that clings to the glass and lid and blades into the top pan of the double boiler its a good idea to disassemble blender when you?re finished to get to the bottom of the blades, hash seems to collect on the underside.

Once blender and brush cleaned, fill the bottom of the double boiler partially with water and set on the stove to boil.

while the bottom pan is heating take the 3 tbsp of olive oil and mix it into the herb in the top pan of the double boiler using a stainless steel spoon.

When done mixing, all the powder will look much darker and barely stick together with just a little pressure.

You then place the top pan into the top of the double boiler. Place the cooking thermometer into center of the mixture and watch it making sure the herb and oil mixture does not go above 275 degrees Fahrenheit,
(THC vaporizes at around 300 F). Stir the herb mixture continuously while heating, as soon as the herb hits about 250 degrees, cut back the temperature on the burner. You want to maintain the temperature at around 250 for 10 minutes total cooking time.

Next, remove the top pan from the double boiler and put it into a sink of cool water, stirring the herb to hasten cooling. Once the herb is cool to the touch,place the top pan into the freezer to chill.

After almost freezing the mixture, it will have solidified and you will have to scrape it out of the pan, chopping it into a powdered form. I then pack the empty gelatin type medicine capsules with this powder.

Once all the capsules are filled, I place them into an airtight container (pill bottle), and store it in the freezer.
Note: The olive oil will cause the gelcaps to soften and deteriorate if stored at room temperatures, always store unused capsules in the freezer.

Dosage may vary, but one capsule will usually keep me high for 4 to 6 hours depending on the quality of the original herb used.

Method Two:
This is similar to method one except for the cooking method, this method uses a microwave oven instead of the stove top double boiler.

Place the powder in a microwave safe bowl and cover the top with four layers of plastic wrap. Seal the plastic wrap to the bowl with a rubber band. Microwave the bowl for short 10-15 second long cycles, stopping when the plastic wrap begins to bulge upwards, stop cooking and wait for the bulge to go down, then zap it again. Continue repeating this cycling process for about 5 minutes, then place the bowl directly into the freezer. Leave the bowl sealed until chilled to keep the THC vapors contained.

Chop the cooled mixture into a powder and fill capsules as described in method one.

Notes:
Low grade bubble hash or kiff can be used to accomplish the same effect, but remember the better your herb the better your pills. I prefer an intense sativa for the process.

What the cooking is accomplishing is breaking down and bonding the cannabinoids with a substance the body will absorb, olive oil. There may be other oils that will work just as well, but olive oil is well known for being completely digestible, and olive oil is good for raising your bloods *HDL level. *good cholesterol, which in turn, helps reduce your LDL (bad cholesterol level).

A word of caution:
With the double boiler method described (method one), you are really measuring the temperature of the bottom center of the pan as much as the Herb. The pan is the place which can become too hot! Avoid overheating the mixture or you will vaporize some of the THC and lose some of the precious medicinal value to the air.
