2. Does not have a real campaign.
3. Lies through his teeth.
4. Never keeps a promise or a commitment.
5. Lives off of other people.
6. Bums cannabis everywhere he goes.
7. Takes sexual advantage of any willing woman.
8. Receives Social Security Disability while publicly campaigning as a Libertarian against that as welfare. and on, and on, and on.
These are just a few of the things that I personally learned about Kubby during the two months (mid-Aug to mid-Oct, 2006) he lived off of me and my family while I kicked-off and managed his “Presidential” campaign.
DO NOT give him any money unless you are okay with him using it as his own personal income and not using it on any “campaign.”

Wow – he’s found that a great way to make money in MMJ with out growing or selling. He just runs for office, puts up a web site and asks for donations. I remember dyeing people going to his trial, and giving him what little money they could. Donations coming in to his web site (the old AMMA one) in $1 dollar increments from people on SSI.
While Kubby was’ kicking it on the beach in Laguna’ after he dumped his sweet mountain place in Taho! All I could ALMOST believe in, even when he ruined the negotiations in Orange Co. with the Board of Sups and in Riverside with the City of Adalonto. Law Enforcement were agreeing with everything and setting in a 10 plant limit. And like some TV movie lawyer, Kubby would come in LATE yelling about plant counts and how NO ONE could live with 10 plants and it was 144 or fight. Of course 144 was the amount HE was growing – in fact 2x that OUTDOORS (him and his wife = 2 Rec’s = 260+ plants) – so of course he was fighting for that number.
But he lost me after WE WON the MMJ portion of the case – it all looked wonderful – precedent for 144 plants in the California! – Then he ‘lost’ on the “Peyote” he had around one of his guest homes (like I say NEVER think this was some POOR patient – his place’s guest homes were bigger then most patients apartments.)
Anyway Steve Kubby gets 6 months ‘in house arrest’ – which is about like Martha Stewart getting sentenced to that + he was allowed to MEDICATE During The 6 Months House Arrest. But he RUNS to Canada (oh the AMMA funds – What every happened to those? – Kubby took them with him.)
So we all heard that Kubby left for OUR freedom. And the whole REALITY of that we WON the MMJ TRIAL was blanked by this guy taking it on the lamb for “Peyote” – and he PLAYED it like he was some poor SSI patient, penniless running to Canada because of the BAD MMJ laws (hay the USA found him NOT guilty on the MMJ charges!) So why did Kubby really go to Canada and ‘run’ out on 6 months in home detention / where they would let him smoke (doesn’t sound so too bad to me) “ON PEYOTE CHARGES”?
Well guess what ladies and gentleman the ‘great man’ had a JOB with Marc Emery’s POT-TV waiting for him. So it wasn’t some poor pot patient feeling with family to the never land of Canada broke in a new land. It was Kubby with the AMMA bank account – moving for a new job. Oh he played up the MMJ angle – and “Peyote” thing never was mentioned. He was one of the CANNABIS EXILES in the papers and magazines. Kind of reminds me of BUSH and the WMD’s – where’s the MMJ in all this? There were NONE – there were NO MJ OR MMJ CHARGES against STEVE KUBBY – he was to do 6 months in home arrest for “Peyote” –Not MMJ
…anyway – PLEASE DON’T GIVE ANY MONEY TO THIS MAN – let the rich support him – fine – if they wish – I’m sure he’ll get plenty of money from someone – Tommy Chong was posing with him – maybe that will get him a meal or two. Gawds I heard talk of dispensers making too much or their vendors – but this guy – you don’t get any meds or anything when you send him money. Send it to any of the REG_ MMJ people but PLEASE don’t waste your money on this HYPE. He hid behind the ‘don’t talk bad about people in the movement’ rule before – and lots of people got ripped off who couldn’t afford it – Lets not let this happen again!

b.) He grew 280 plants next to his lovely estate in the Lake Taho area for which he was busted. He then formed AMMA and got everyone on board saying “you need that many plants to provide for 1 medical user alone” (it was for wife and him) using the
Oakland guidelines (now repealed) of 144 per person.
c.) He ran around the state – or sent in his minions to every meeting with LEO’s and government people to shout down the guidelines everyone was ‘cool with’ ie the 10 plant Arcata (at the time) guidelines – which LEO’s and county people were accepting. Greg and tell you about a town in Riverside Adelonto – that was ready to GIVE the MMJ patients the OLD POST OFFICE in 1999 – but then Kubby’s troops came into the meeting late and started yelling 144 or fight – and the LEO’s and City Council just rolled their eyes – and MMJ was sent back 10 or 15 years at that moment in that area. The exact same thing happened in Orange Co. in 2002 – Board of Sups and Sheriff was GOOD TO GO with 10 plants – Kubby had a protest saying “NO WAY” – and we lost Orange county – For 10 years!
d.) the reason OF COURSE was because if the 10 plant thing got in – across the state – it would make HIS case look bad – so he got all the people who can’t grow or don’t know together and protested every meeting that went on like that. Pissing off everyone This was about the time Dr. Jay and I met and he came up because I was YELLING on the AMMA list about how this was BS and 10 was enough! (Soon after I met Jay and Nancy = they came up and … the rest is history)
e.) the Kubby trial = everyone was supposed to come – sick and everything – this was “a hero” (belch) BUT HE WON! = WE WON = they let him off on the MMJ GROWING and POSSESSION charges TOTALLY – but he had peyote in one of his guest homes

f.) for the peyote he got “6 months house arrest” – he could sit home in his lovely Lake
Tahoe home and watch TV or be on the computer or do what ever AND SMOKE MMJ –
with his lovely wife and kids.
g.) what does he do? RUNS TO CANADA in 2001 = claiming he was a MMJ
EXPATRIATE – REMEMBER there were NO WMD’s with Bush? – Same with KUBBY
there were NO MMJ Charges! …
h.) WHY did he really run? Because Marc Emery (Cannabis Culture and Pot TV)
offered him a $50,000 a year job to do the POT-TV NEWS!
i.) he also emptied the AMMA bank account and sent out an e-mail leaving Dr. Jay in
charge of AMMA.
j.) Then in 2002 when Nurse Nancy, Dr. Jay, my ex-wife Nurce Pam and I were up for a
(supposed) medical conference at Emery’s. Kubby and his wife became livid about
the idea that MMJ should be kept as MMJ and not a ‘front’ for the legislation for MJ
period. Also he was confronted on other BS – and he because up set – ending with
tossing us out of AMMA. He soon put out an e-mail to all AMMA people that we were
out that Jay was NEVER the head of AMMA and that he had NEVER said so. (I keep
e-mails and reposted to the AMMA list the e-mail Kubby sent out saying Jay was to be
left in charge. It wasn’t addressed, just ignored.)
k.) We formed what is now AAMC – spun off of AMMA and everyone ‘nice’ moved over.
and put up a web site – and so forth. PLEASE NOTE – that Kubbys ‘motto’ is the same

old reprobate is trying any way to climb on any band wagon.
l.) The LAST thing that really sucks about Kubby is he does all of this off the backs
of the poor sick. He’s got that kind of face and demeanor that makes people just want
to send him money.

A lot of us as children idolize certain men and women, some of us spend our entire lives devoted to another's cause, message, ideas and dreams. We put so much into these certain people that we dedicate our entire existence to that of a complete stranger. Now there is one complete stranger who I feel I know all to well. I have heard of this "hero" from my stepfather and his colleagues for years. I have seen his picture on countless websites and magazines. This "man" is the "3 Mile Island of the Medical Marijuana Movement". This "man" is Steve Kubby.
When we are young we are taught to respect our elders, to see that wisdom is in the hands of those who have experienced life firsthand. But what do the young do when our elders are completely wrong? What do you do when the integrity of the “elder” is compromised by their own hypocrisy? When Steve Kubby was given THE GREATEST BREAK IN THE HISTORY
OF DRUG OFFENSES and he fled to Canada he openly spit in the face of what Medical Marijuana really means and set the movement back at least 5 years. What my stepfather Jay Cavanaugh lived and died for!!!! What Laura Carden’s courage represented!!!!! The respect of the Government that Ryan Landers has worked so hard for. Steve Kubby SPIT in the face of those people.
Steve Kubby does not know me. He only knew my stepfather. He took my stepfathers original idea of AMMA and he stole it. He robbed its funds and left Jay to clean up his mess. He tried to rape this movement of its dignity. Steve Kubby is a criminal and disgrace to what MMJ stands for. Steve Kubby does not care about ANY person who has given their time, money , dedication, blood, sweat, tears, and devotion to this cause. I can say I have not had the “pleasure” of meeting this scum. I know I was taught as a youngster that I should RESPECT my elders but not to respect those who do not respect themselves. Steve Kubby is nothing more then a crook, a swindler, a manipulator, and most importantly Steve Kubby is a FRAUD.
My name is Jon Paul Mohr, I am the son of Dr. Jay Cavanaugh and this is my message to YOU Mr. Kubby. My stepfather gave his pride, joy, and most importantly life and soul to see to it that DECENT, HARDWORKING, *SICK* people could use Marijuana for their pain. I am not as sick as most patients especially ones like Laura Carden , who actually had the class to support you because you talked a big game about her cause, but I would give up my 215 in LESS then a heartbeat for those who needed it more. I as a 20 year old man know the difference and the IMPORTANCE of 215 over 420. While you want to be president of the United States and seek more glory for your own accord I want to know why my young heart and soul aches to know that while the world is cheated of good men like Dr. Jay Cavanaugh , there are plenty of Used Car Salesmen like you who still walk the streets. Grow up Kubby. Your acting like a child.
