Google sets a 33 year long cookie. Yes! a thirty-three years long
cookie.
Cookies are a small software used to track your internet
surfing habits, sites
you've visited, identify your P.C, location and
much more. According to Google-Watch.org

33 YEAR LONG COOKIE!
If you've been to Google recently or maybe not so recent, you can check your
Google cookie and it's expiration date by clicking http://www.google-watch.org/cgi-bin/cookie.htm
CIA VS. GOOGLE (PRIVACY COMPARISON)
"The CIA had to stop using a comparatively innocent log-analysis cookie
that expired in 10 years, and their document search site isn't even used by many
people. Google handles 200 million searches per day, and their cookie expires in
2038. One of Google's leading software engineers, Matt Cutts, has a top-secret
clearance and used to work for the National Security Agency. Google doesn't even
feel the need to defend their cookie policy; they merely laugh off anyone who
inquires about it." - Google-Watch.org
The reason you should be concerned is that Authorities are more interested in
what people are search for than ever before. Using Geoip tracking, people can
detect your location by city and county up to 90% effective rate. Naturally, the
internet has been an anonymous medium for quite some time, however, that
bed-of-rose is turning into a king size thorne bush really fast.
SELLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Selling people's information is a big money making business. There's a network
of businesses that's out there exclusively to buy, sell and obtain people's
personal information. Most likely, there's plenty of information already
available about you that you are unaware of.
These information acquisition companies often purchase existing businesses and
take over their customer database. Practice such as this will certainly drive
e-commerce into the ground once people become more informed and aware of tricky
business practice and invasion of privacy.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1. Use proxies. A good free proxy is http://www.privoxy.org
- Privoxy might be a bit complicated to customize, however, there's plenty of
information to get you up and running.
1a. Use http://www.hydroponicsearch.com
- They offer anonymous browsing through proxy.
2. Use a cache cleaning software
3. Don't use Google
4. Don't use any site that uses Google's database. They might forward ip
information to Google.
Some partner sites includes Harvard, Netscape, AOL, and much more smaller search
engines, directories and web sites. I propose a ban to all these sites utilizing
Google's search technology.
GOOGLE'S SEARCH RESULTS ARE BOGUS
Aside from the security issue, google's search results are not all that
accurate. You've heard about PageRank. You probably even rely on it to determine
which site's from the list of results to visit (Google toolbar), however, the
PageRank tool is simply a PR resource. It has no legitimate use in terms of
accurate search results.
"The PageRank that is displayed in the Google Toolbar is for
entertainment purposes only. Due to repeated attempts by hackers to access this
data, Google updates the PageRank data very infrequently because is it not
secure. On average, the PR that is displayed in the Google Toolbar is several
months old. If the toolbar is showing a PR of zero, this is because the user is
visiting a new URL that hasn't been updated in the last update. The PR that is
displayed by the Google Toolbar is not the same PR that is used to rank the
webpage results so there is no need to be concerned if your PR is displayed as
zero. If a site is showing up in the search results, it doesn't not have a real
PR of zero, the Toolbar is just out of date" http://forums.searchenginewatch.com...read.php?t=3054
