If you live in a State that does not have a Medical Marijuana Law. Then I would not waste your time the first time you meet your New Doctor asking for a written recommendation! You need to take your time, Build up good Communication with your Doctor, & Let him know how you feel it helps you! Then 6 to 9 months on down the road, See if he will write a recommendation for Medical Cannabis. But If he will not write a recommendation, Then each time you meet make sure you bring up your medical usage & have him/her write it into you medical records, Because then they are monitoring your medical marijuana usage, & it will help to enable you to use a "Medical Necessity Defense" in a court of law.

Its the next best thing to a written recommendation. & If you are a DR Please do this for you medical patients! Yes we wish that you would write a written recommendation, The Federal Appeals Court has all ready Ruled & Protected your medical rights as a DR to write a recommendation for medical cannabis, But if you are still concerned about writing a recommendation, Then please at lest write into the patients records each visit their medical marijuana usage & help protect your patients!
