Breeder’s Description – ‘Mothers Finest’

Every mother will tell you she doesn’t have a favourite, but add this strain to your collection, and you’ll have trouble deciding on your favourite mother. An Indica-Sativa cross, as funky as they come. Don’t be fooled by the shorter flowering times and heavier yields of Mothers Finest?, her Sativa breeding are evident from the first toke.

The phenotypic expression was wide and varied but all were very obviously sisters and brothers. If I had the space they would have kept a few of the males as they were big and handsome with already enticing stem smells.

I grew out one and a half pack of Mothers Finest, as I knew this strain had 3 phenotypes and I wanted at least a couple of “Keepers”…Out of 20 seeds I ended up with 12 females, 3 or 4 of each pheno..and one Exceptional example of each ..there were quite a few other females that were worth keeping, but why bother when I had a definite winner, and I am quite picky in choosing moms to keep…This is a multiple hybrid strain and the three represented were: Haze pheno (#11 for me) JackHerer Pheno (#5) and the “secret Juicyfruit realitive” which by all acounts is an(#2) Indica dominant Mapleleaf hybrid…Sensi was looking to bring down the haze flowering time while keeping the haze flavor and high..(how many times have they tried this?)..and the succeeded..

#2 Indica Pheno was a straight grower with no branching…Mine had extra buds forming at every leaf junction which made the plant look really filled in..From seed she finished in 65 days but I have been told clones quicken by as much as two weeks….Of the three phenos this one had the most perfect balanced high…Very Sativa, calm,soaring, exuberent, while the body was powerful and uplifting..the flavor was the lightest of the three reminding me of the “oldfashioned” hard candy I’d get at grandma’s house during the holidays….

#5 the Jack Pheno was the largest yeilder of the three and the smelliest…she was done at 75 days ..and had the nicest haze flavor (same as the other two) but more of a jackherer twinge…the high was much speedier than the other phenos but not as pronounced….of the three phenos, this is my least favorite, but many of my friends love it…

#11 Haze pheno 90 plus days..this is not what sensi had in mind when they were producing this strain…much too long of a flowering time and absolutely no yeild…but quality is what this gal is about…I consider this pheno a find as many others who have grown MF have seen the Haze phenos but none have looked as beautiful and crystally as the one I seemed to have found.. she got overlapping light from 3K and even though the buds were crazy dense for a sativa there wasnt more than 40g on the whole bush…that hurts..but I wouldnt dream of lettin ANY of this bud out of my grasp…flavor was same as #2 and #5 old fash mint candy but this one is the sweetest of the three…there is more of a pine/menthol twinge to it also but you really only taste that in the first hit…the High of the haze is the strongest in the head but does have a lil energetic body high..but the headieness of the high is first class, clear,soaring and very calming and pleasing….my new favorite strain…
