AUTHORIZED DENNIS PERON BIOGRAPHY TELLS
STORY OF THE GODFATHER OF MARIJUANA
AND THE SAN FRANCISCO CANNABIS BUYERS CLUB

A new book release is now available that features the story of Dennis
Peron,
The San Francisco Cannabis Buyers Club, and the medical marijuana
movement in California.
The Book is entitled; "Medical Marijuana, the
Story of Dennis
Peron, the San Francisco Cannabis Buyers Club and the
Ensuing Road to Decriminalization".

The
Medical Marijuana Movement In California
The book was written by Michael Malott who worked with Peron during the
mid-90's at the cannabis buyers club. Malott also promoted a number of
Pro-215 benefit concerts in the bay area during that period. This is
Dennis Peron's official authorized biography and goes back in Dennis's
history to his early days from his childhood to diving into trenches in the
middle of a war zone in Saigon to starting the Big Top Supermarket in San
Francisco's, Castro district and his association with Harvey
Milk to
challenging the federal government with his San Francisco Cannabis Buyers
Club.
Dennis Peron has unquestionably become one of the top figures in the
movement for the legalization of
medical marijuana. He has endured
numerous drug related arrests and survived incredible controversy with his
public distribution of medical marijuana through his cannabis buyers
club. He has challenged marijuana laws all the way to the Supreme
Court. At
present thirteen states now recognize the benefits associated with medical
marijuana use and that can be attributed to Peron's efforts and
work. In 1995, Dennis Peron opened the first cannabis buyers club
ever in U.S.
history, The San Francisco Cannabis Buyers Club. There he openly
distributed medical marijuana as a "caregiver" to hundreds of people
who had a medical necessity
and doctor's recommendation. He was at the
center of much controversy labeled everything from the "Mother Teresa of
Marijuana" to an all out drug dealer abusing a loophole in the law.
The
club was frequently featured in national news. Peron's club
operated
without any legal obstructions for some time before California State
Attorney General, Dan Lungren raided the club seizing thousands in cash, a
large amount of marijuana, and protected political documents and
patient's private records. The San
Francisco Police Department and city
government refused to assist in the raid and criticized Lungren's
"politic motivations for springing the raid". No arrests ever
resulted from the raid, but a civil suit was filed by Lungren to force
Peron to eventually shut his doors.
At present it is reported that there are over 500 medical marijuana
dispensaries operating in the greater L.A. area alone. President Obama
has put the enforcement of marijuana laws on the federal level to a low
priority going as far as telling the Feds to stay out of California and

dispensaries that are compliant with state law. The governor of
California supports all out legalization
of marijuana and every year
California rakes in an estimated $50 to $100 Million Dollars in taxes from
the sale of medical marijuana.
This book takes the reader all through this history in detail. The
stories of the legal battles and little known facts from behind the
scenes. Not only focusing in on Peron and his history, but also the
progression of medical marijuana and medical
marijuana laws in California
and beyond.
In November of this year, general recreational marijuana use by adults
will likely become legal in the State of California. A proposed $50 an
ounce tax will be levied on each ounce of marijuana sold in the
state. This is the story of that campaign from its start to the
present written
by someone who was on the front line at Peron's side from the
beginning.
In addition, the actual text of Proposition P, Proposition 215, and SB 420
are included, as well as, landmark legal decisions and other resources for
the reader. This is the only Peron biography in print and is
completely authorized by
Peron himself and takes readers up to the present including Peron's
recent acquisition of the Hotel Normandie in Los
Angeles and his recent
stoke he suffered in April of this year.
