Using Geoip tracking, people can detect your location by city and county up to 90% effective rate. Naturally, the internet has been an anonymous medium for quite some time, however, that bed-of-rose is turning into a king size thorne bush really fast.
SELLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
Selling people’s information is a big money making business. There’s a network of businesses that’s out there exclusively to buy, sell and obtain people’s personal information. Most likely, there’s plenty of information already available about you that you are unaware of.
These information acquisition companies often purchase existing businesses and take over their customer database. Practice such as this will certainly drive e-commerce into the ground once people become more informed and aware of tricky business practice and invasion of privacy.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?

GOOGLE’S SEARCH RESULTS ARE BOGUS
Aside from the security issue, google’s search results are not all that accurate. You’ve heard about PageRank. You probably even rely on it to determine which site’s from the list of results to visit (Google toolbar), however, the PageRank tool is simply a PR resource. It has no legitimate use in terms of accurate search results.
